Congressman Heath Shuler released the following statement while visiting Industrial Opportunities, Inc.:
"On behalf of Lee Ferguson, President of Wellco Enterprises Inc., I want to announce today that Wellco
Enterprises has partnered with Industrial Opportunities Inc., of Andrews to create 16 to 32 jobs to
manufacture a cold weather liner and related products for US Military boots. This decision was based on
the price, quality and on time delivery of IOI. This partnership will continue to grow jobs in the
Cherokee County area."
Congressman Shuler went on to say that "It is fitting that Mr. Ferguson and Wellco are recognizing the
abilities of the IOI workforce during National Disability Employment Awareness Month."
IOI employees stopped work and gathered around the production area set up for bootie production where a
Wellco banner is now hanging as Shuler announced that Wellco Enterprises has partnered with IOI to create
16 to 32 manufacturing jobs.
